The novelty has a round screen and runs on the Tizen operating system.

Samsung today announced the latest addition to its line of smartwatches. Gear S2 features a classic design with an intuitive interface, as well as advanced customization options.

A rotating bezel with home and back keys should provide comfortable interaction with the device and convenient access to various functions and applications. This is the same frame that has previously lit up in other Samsung documents.

In total, Samsung plans to supply 2 watch models: standard and classic. The standard version will be equipped with a silver or black case and a silicone strap. And the classic model will have only a black version and a leather strap. Optionally, Samsung offers a watch with a 3G-module and the possibility of voice communication.

The striking thickness of 11.4mm for a device of this class will make you forget that you are wearing a multimedia processor with a powerful 1GHz processor, 4GB of permanent memory and 512MB of RAM on your wrist. The resolution of the round AMOLED display is 360x360 pixels — a density of 302 pixels per inch.

For greater user convenience, the Gear S2 has an NFC chip that allows instant mobile payments. In addition, the watch loves sports, and will keep a round-the-clock activity log, sending notifications and motivating you in every possible way to new achievements.

Samsung is a pioneer in wearable electronics, we have not been afraid of the unbeaten path and brought the most daring engineering solutions to the market.

Battery life Gear S2 — from 2 to 3 days. To recharge, you need to place the watch on the wireless dock that comes with the kit. The rest of the information, including pricing, will be revealed today at IFA in Berlin. [SamsungMobile]
