Appearance

The design of SmartWatch One is made in high-tech style. It seems that the case is almost entirely built into a rather rigid bracelet. In addition to the white we have, there are blue, canary yellow and black color options. The case dimensions are 35 x 50 x 10 mm, the weight of the device is 44 grams.

Control is carried out by the “Up”, “Down” and “Input/Pairing Mode” buttons located on the left side of the case. On the right is the Return/Menu button. Information is displayed on a black and white display with built-in backlight.

The watch sits comfortably on the hand, but often slips on the wrist, since the rigid bracelet does not fit the hand tightly. For the same reason, it may be difficult to fasten.

Synchronization with smartphone

The pedometer, barometer, altitude sensor and temperature sensor work without connecting to your smartphone – but you’ll need it for other functions. Synchronization occurs using Bluetooth 4.0 LE.

So far, Qumo SmartWatch One is compatible only with Samsung Galaxy 3/4, Samsung Note 2/3, Galaxy Mega, iPhone 4S, 5 and 5S, Nexus 5, but the developers promise to expand the list of supported devices in the near future.

The Qumo SW application can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website. The interface is simple and clear. The home page shows the watch itself, where you can customize the notifications displayed on the device’s display. To do this, you need to scroll the page to the side and click on the plus sign, and then select an element from the proposed list.

Through the application, you can also customize the interface style and backlight operating time (options range from three seconds to ten). Here the camera control mode is activated.

Opening hours

Let’s talk about the features that become available when you synchronize your SmartWatch One with your mobile device. First of all, this is duplication of incoming calls from a smartphone on the watch display with the caller’s number displayed, as well as vibration notification of incoming SMS with the ability to read them.

On the watch you can see your call history, as well as the presence and number of notifications from Facebook. Manufacturers promise to add email and notifications on Twitter and VKontakte in the near future.

A simple but very convenient function is music control. Those who listen to music on a smartphone are faced with the need to constantly take the gadget out of their pocket and put it back while switching tracks. Now you can simply press the “next track” button on Qumo SmartWatch One. The music control interface is simple and consists of three buttons: forward, backward and pause.

With Qumo SmartWatch One you can forget about “selfies” from an outstretched arm – it has a camera control function. It works as follows: you need to enter pairing mode and turn on the camera through the application (this function does not work any other way). Now each press of any of the watch buttons will take one frame.

The device will not allow its owner to lose his smartphone. If you forget your device somewhere and wander off, the watch will vibrate when you leave Bluetooth range.

If you specify your city in the settings, the weather forecast will also be shown on the display. Reports are downloaded over the Internet, so this function requires synchronization with a smartphone and its Internet access.

The built-in pedometer counts not only the number of steps taken, but also the number of calories burned, and in running mode, also the running speed. For accurate calculations, the device asks you to indicate the user’s weight and the length of his step.

Safety

Qumo SmartWatch One is rated IP67, which means the watch is protected from dust and splashing water. You shouldn’t swim in the watch, but it’s not afraid of rain.

Autonomy

The watch has fairly low power consumption: you only need to charge it once a week. Turning on the screen backlight only when requested by the user helps save battery power. This is easy to do: just tap the display three times with your finger. The backlight activation time is adjusted via the Qumo SW application (default – 10 seconds).

Results

The price of Qumo SmartWatch One is 3,10$. It cannot be called a full-fledged fitness tracker, since the health functions of the gadget are limited to a pedometer, calorie counter and jogging history. SmartWatch One is more convenient in another way: with it you don’t need to take your smartphone out of your pocket to find out the weather forecast, read SMS or change the track in the player. Overall, it’s a great “life-simplifying” accessory that’s also waterproof and doesn’t require frequent charging. After all, it is also a watch that tells time.
